its not 'idm' but i'm sure someone will know. which track did busta rhymes sample for wooha!? i listened to it again last night (a bootleg of the warmup dj for portishead) and busta stole the bass line and the melody from it, except in the original the melody goes a bit crazier. thanks! dave. ===== --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

according to http://www.members.accessus.net/~xombi/intro.html (the rap sample FAQ) .. the track wooha contains a sample from 8th wonder by the sugarhill gang. -jonah --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

just a slight correction - that's an interpolation (i think it should be listed there). Sugar Hill were the first to do the 'wooh hah, got you all in check' thing and that's where busta got it from. the beat is most definetly galt macdermont and i'm surprised that's not in the faq. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
